Data Architecture
Think of it as the frame of an automobile or the skeleton in the human body.
Everything else depends on it.
You can’t just swap it out.
This is what the information architecture is to a fully-constructed solution. It represents how the information will appear to users and how they will access and use it, where the data needs to come from, and how it will need to be manipulated.
Nearly everything else in the lifecycle – identification of sources, how much scrubbing, migration strategies, manipulation, data access and distribution strategies, the degree of front-end administration – will depend on the design of the database and data flow architecture. The information architecture affects the work of every other member of the team.
Technology can only mask a poor design to a point.
SISG has the experience to help you get it right the first time.
Our solutions architects are each a hybrid of technology and business – the quality that makes them proficient in information design. We understand how the information affects the rest of the team because we know the tools and the methods. We understand what the user needs to do with that information, because we’ve done it. This is what differentiates us from the rest.
